Heroes: Elwyn, Dalin, Manten, Shazar'r.
In a dreadful grove on the top of the hill, the Heroes are confronted with a Night Twist, the source of all the strife affecting Caer Garrion. During the fight, Elwyn and Manten fall victim to the Night Twist's desparing song, and Dalin is killed. Shazar'r decides to retreat to the Golden Dragon.
The Lizard-folk gathers some allies, including the crew of a slaver ship with a grudge against the Night Twist. The Slavers had bought slaves under the influence of the Night Twist, believing the despair would end once outside of town. Alas, many slaves, still longing for the song of the horrific tree, had died of a broken heart.
Together with the barbarian leader of the slavers, and thanks to Lady Elaydren fire-magic, the Heroes defeat the Night Twist, freeing their companions, and lifting the curse from all the villagers, now held prisoner by the slavers.
Manten reincarnates Dalin back to life, then the Heroes are escorted on board of the slaver's ship, in order to discuss the release of the slaves, but the situation degenerates in a fight. Elwyn is killed, and the Heroes escape capture. Back on the Golden Dragon, they decide to let the slavers go, and then retrieve what supplies they need from the village.
Kalibar Jenks is killed during the night, apparently by Hobar the Merchant, who has stolen Elaydren's schema. Investigation of the crime scene reveals that the Aundarian spy stole a scroll of teleportaion, but his casting went awry. Divination magic reveals that the spy ended up in the Demon Wastes, where he's promptly slaughtered and robbed by Rakshasas.
The crew of the Golden Dragon decides to travel to Sharn, where Elaydren plans to contact the Dogs of War. After a few days of travel, Manten manages to create a scroll of raise dead, to bring Captain Elwyn back.
As the Golden Dragon apporaches Sharn, her path is hindered by a pair of Lyrandar sky-ships. Lady Elaydren escapes with her magic, hoping to meet Elwyn again together with the Dogs of War. The Lyrandar envoys board the Golden Dragon, and take Elwyn and his crew into custody, to face the judgement of the House of Storms.
