This is Aundair's intelligence agency. Though the agency does not ignore the value of mundane spies, magic remains its primary tool. Its agents often rely on divination magic and other mystical means of spying.

Dark Lanterns

The Dark Lanterns serve the crown of Breland as spies and assassins. Collectively they form the intelligence division of the King's Citadel, a much larger organization sworn to defend Breland from its enemies and dispense justice in the name of King Boranel. More than any other division within the Citadel, the Dark Lanterns tend toward intelligence- gathering missions that extend beyond Breland's borders.

As the secret servants of the crown, members of the organization are granted the authority to conduct intelligence operations on foreign soil, execute covert missions across the globe, and prevent national secrets from falling into the hands of rival intelligence agencies. The Dark Lanterns also have the unwritten authority to eliminate any creature that threatens their nation, its sovereign, or its citizens.

The Cults of the Dragon Below

The Cults of the Dragon Below have existed since the beginning of time in one form or another. There have always been those, who chose to worship the Dragon Below (Khyber) in order to gain power or in hopes of some dark promise fulfilled.

In modern times, cultists seek to release beings (e.g. daelkyr, rakshasa rajahs, or demons) or gain power from those same beings through sacrifice or devotion. Most cultists practice in secret as society at large shuns such worship. The cults are illegal in all of the five nations.

The Order of the Emerald Claw

Originally a group of elite shock-trooper style knights under the crown of Karrnath, the Order of the Emerald Claw has since been outlawed in Karrnath and has gone underground.

They continue to operate in a semi-terrorist fashion to this day, proclaiming their desire to see Karrnath once again rise to power and garnering support from the Blood of Vol.
