Heroes: Elwyn, Dalin, Manten, Shazar'r.
The Heroes enter the torture hall, and are ambushed by the High Secretary himself, a trained and deadly assassin. They kill the villain, and release the captive Hobar, the Aundarian spy. They return to the Golden Dragon, where Elaydren exposes her dilemma to Hobar. The spy suggests to travel to Fairhaven, to the headquarters of the Eyes of Aundair.
On their way, the ship is attacked by a team of nimblewrights sent by House Cannith. The Heroes defeat these foes, but the ship is damaged and they're forced to stop for repairs in the town of Caer Garrion. There, they meet a Lizardfolk Merchant (Shazar'r), who seems to be an old friend of Kalibar Jenks.
Together, they move into town, only to find the place deserted. In the town square, they see deaf Verbeegs gathering loot from the empty houses. Leading them is a Centaur with sorcerous powers.
The Heroes kill the giants, while the Centaur escapes. In the Constable office, they find a raving prisoner, apparently under the effect of a compelling song of despair. When they free him, he guides them to a nearby hill. There, they meet again the Centaur sorcerer, and kill him.
