Elaydren d'Cannith poses as a member of House Cannith in Aundair, but she's actually at the service of Baron Merrix from Breland.
She hired the Dogs of War to find the missing parts (schemas) of a powerful pattern, a magical blue-print capable of infusing other magical items with intelligence. Once the pattern was complete, she delivered it to Baron Merrix, but was horrified by the vast powers of the sentient pattern, calling himself Xulo.
Thus, she decided to steal one of the schemas. and bring it back to the ancient Giant Temple on Xen'drik where the pattern had been found, hoping to find some answers. Unfortunately, while on her way to Xen'drik, she was ambushed by Warforged sent by Merrix. Captain Elwyn of the Golden Dragon saved her from her assailants, but she found proof on the defeated Warforged that more of Merrix servants would be waiting for her at the Giant Temple.
She then decided to change her plans, and to contact a friendly agent from the Royal Eyes of Aundair stationed in Droaam. Luckily for her, Captain Elwyn decided to escort her in this dangerous quest.
