Heroes: Ceolwic, Temoi, Ibiki, Rat.
The Heroes investigate a series of murders in the Blackbones district. All the victims are warforged, and all have been found with missing body parts. The Heroes begin their inquiries at the Red Hammer, a tavern and repair shop for warforged. There they come into contact with Shadowblack, an extremist follower of the Lord of Blades, Dandy, a veteran turned bard, and Copper, a half-wit gatherer of scrap metal.
All the victims were working at the Tain Foundry. The Heroes visit the place, where they interrogate the racist dwarven overseer Molric. The Heroes also check the corpses, all of them kept at the nearby Cannith Forgehold managed by Lord Slogar d' Cannith. It seems the missing limbs and parts were taken away with great care by someone with a deep knowledge of warforged anatomy.
After their visit at the Forgehold, the Heroes are ambushed by shifter assassins. Magical interrogation of their corpses reveal that they were hired by Lord Slogar. Investigating the crime scenes, the Heroes find several golden chain links. Several warforged at the Red Hammer confirm that the same links are used by Copper to pay for services received.
The Heroes go to inspect Copper's locker at the Tain Foundry, and they discover a secret passage leading to an arcane laboraory, where they find Copper and his creation: a monstrous warforged created from the parts harvested from the victims! The Heroes destroy both warforged, and seal the passage to the laboratory.
On their way to confront Lord Slogar, they also manage to quell a warforged riot led by Shadowblack. Then they capture Lord Slogar, and bring him to a secure place where he confesses his involvement with Copper. The Heroes ponder what to do with him next...
