Session 17 - 1,600 xp

Heroes: Ibiki, Ceolwic, Mral, Temoi.

The Heroes regroup and set a trap for the murdering changeling Ziki. They hide in Corlina's home, and when Ziki comes to kill the elven dancer, they come out of hiding and capture the changeling. The Heroes deliver Ziki to the Sharn Watch. Not long after, she will be judged and executed for the murder of 52 former members of the Peace Circus.

Ceolwic and a fellow Ghallanda scion have a meeting with a Riedran envoy, who is renting many feas-thalls in Sharn. The envoy also makes a gift to the halflings: burning crystals emanating a smoke that soothes the mind.

While lounging in a tavern, the Heroes witness a crowd of revelers carousing on the streets: in a few days Wildnight, a festival dedicated to the Fury, will take place. Suddenly, screams of terror arise from the crowd. A House Medani convoy, carrying several prisoners in transit from the Citadel, is he source of the ruckus. Several cages are open, and the prisoners are wreaking havoc. Among them, several goblinoids, and a monstrous two-headed giant.

The Heroes come to the rescue, killing the ettin, and subduing the goblinoids. Seems only half a dozen prisoners are still missing. The Medani captain leading the convoy thanks the Heroes, and departs with the caged prisoners.

A few days later, the Heroes are summoned by Baron Trelib d' Medani. He wants them to investigate the theft of the Silver Basilisk, a precious jewel that has recently been stolen from his office. His daughter Zelina was already investigating the matter, but she's also disappeared. Baron Trelib hopes that by finding the Silver Basilisk, the Heroes will also find his daughter.

The Heroes start their investigation where Zelina was last seen, a silversmith in lower Sharn. There, they find the silversmith dead, but Temoi manages to get a some information with the use of a speak with dead spell. Seems that two of the six prisoners that escaped a few days ago are involved in the murder and the theft. Strangely enough, the only connection the escaped criminal seem to share is that they were all at one time brought to justice by the famous inquisitive Victor Saint-Demain.
